How to get to LMU Institut für Informatik

From the airport (MUC)

  1. Buy a Streifenkarte, cancel 8 stripes.
  2. Take train S8, exit at Isartor (takes approx. 45 min).
  3. Look at the environment map, find the tram stop.
  4. Take Tram 18 northbound (direction Effnerplatz), exit at Tivolistr.
  5. Walk to the other side of the tennis court.
  6. The institute is behind a tall white wall.
Allow 75 minutes.

From main station (Hauptbahnhof)

  1. Buy a Streifenkarte, cancel 2 stripes.
  2. Take subway eastbound: either U4 (direction Arabellapark) or U5 (direction Neuperlach Süd)
  3. Exit at Lehel.
  4. Continue with step 4 in list above.
Allow 35 minutes.

As of today (Feb 2012), a Streifenkarte contains 10 stripes and costs 12,00 EUR.
